Shopping for bedding? Well, when it comes to bed coverlets, you might just want to throw caution to the wind and buy the first one you see. Before doing that, though, keep these four tips in mind. These will ensure that when you come home with your new coverlets, you don’t have to head right back to the store to replace them.
Know Your Bed Size
You need to know exactly how big your bed is. If you have a king size or queen sized bed, if you have a twin, etc. But you should also know the thickness of the bed. If you have a bed frame under your mattress, for instance, you can possibly squeeze a king coverlet onto a queen bed. Still, it’s better to make sure that you’re actually getting one of the right size.
Make Sure It’s Comfortable
Before making a purchase, test it out and see that it’s comfortable. It should be of a nice enough thickness to soften the mattress, and made from a material that you find pleasant to the touch.
Find A Coverlet You Like
Of course, in the end, all it really comes down to is that you like the coverlet. Coverlets are generally seen as being visual in purpose. They’re there to make your bed look nicer and, of course, to keep those little spring circles from poking up against the bed.
Get a Good Price
And finally, don’t spend too much. The fact is that it really is just a sheet of fabric with some elastic attached, so you shouldn’t have to spend an arm and a leg. Don’t be fooled by high prices on “luxury” coverlets, as there’s really no difference between most. However much you spend on a coverlet, if it’s comfortable, it’s comfortable, and if it’s not, it’s not.
