A Look At The Evolution Of Plush Toys
Kids don’t want to wake up holiday morning and find stuffed animals under the tree. Teddy bears and stuffed animals of every variety used to be something that all children loved, even as they grew older into their teenage years. Unfortunately, times have changed and even small babies are growing accustomed to video games and interactive toys which make unanimated plush toys seem boring.

Last year, the Biscuit My Lovin Pup was one of the hottest toys selling during the holiday season. Parents raced to find this larger sized, interactive plush toy because they just knew their children would love it. This toy offers that same comfort and wholesome fun that parents used to get from their own plush toys, but it also has the interactive features that today’s children demand.
This Fur Real Friend is a very unusual stuffed animal because he can hear his human playmates and is able to respond. He will lift his paw for a shake, wag his tail, or bark on cue. After kids are finished playing with him, Biscuit can cuddle up with the kids for a nap or TV time.
While Biscuit is a fun example of how toy technology has grown in recent years, he is also a good example of how the plush toys market has evolved. What began as a very active industry for teddy bears years ago has turned into an industry of moving and talking pets that children love in a new way.
While many people predicted that the market for plush toys would dry up over the years, it has not done so. Instead, it has changed and expanded in order to keep up with the changing times. The toy manufacturers have been able to deliver what young customers demand. The result is a variety of plush toys that dance, sing, sit, bark, and roam around the house.
There are even pet dinosaurs that will wander around the house and interact with anyone they encounter on their journey. They will even lie down in the spot of their choosing and take a nice nap. The technology behind these more advanced interactive pets is still in its infancy so the dinosaur’s battery life is rather short, but it is promising of what toys will look like in another ten years.
Parents who don’t want to deal with a real puppy chasing through the house, chewing everything up, and turning the carpet into a potty can now purchase the Fur Real Friends Biscuit or the smaller sized pets that make noises and move their heads when their backs are rubbed. Parents with dinosaur loving children can now bring home toy dinosaurs that interact with their children for an hour or so every day.

This has created a demand for interactive plush toys and the toy manufacturers have stepped up to the challenge.
